Gets the value of the current TimeSpan structure expressed in whole and fractional minutes.
public:
property double TotalMinutes { double get(); };
public double TotalMinutes { get; }
member this.TotalMinutes : double
Public ReadOnly Property TotalMinutes As Double
Property Value
The total number of minutes represented by this instance.
Examples
The following example instantiates a TimeSpan object and displays the value of its TotalMinutes property. It also displays the value of each component (seconds, milliseconds) that forms the fractional part of the value of its TotalMinutes property.
// Define an interval of 1 day, 15+ hours.
TimeSpan interval = new TimeSpan(1, 15, 42, 45, 750);
Console.WriteLine("Value of TimeSpan: {0}", interval);
Console.WriteLine("{0:N5} minutes, as follows:", interval.TotalMinutes);
Console.WriteLine(" Minutes: {0,5}", interval.Days * 24 * 60 +
interval.Hours * 60 +
interval.Minutes);
Console.WriteLine(" Seconds: {0,5}", interval.Seconds);
Console.WriteLine(" Milliseconds: {0,5}", interval.Milliseconds);
// The example displays the following output:
// Value of TimeSpan: 1.15:42:45.7500000
// 2,382.76250 minutes, as follows:
// Minutes: 2382
// Seconds: 45
// Milliseconds: 750
// Define an interval of 1 day, 15+ hours.
let interval = TimeSpan(1, 15, 42, 45, 750)
printfn $"Value of TimeSpan: {interval}"
printfn $"{interval.TotalMinutes:N5} minutes, as follows:"
printfn $" Minutes: {interval.Days * 24 * 60 + interval.Hours * 60 + interval.Minutes,5}"
printfn $" Seconds: {interval.Seconds,5}"
printfn $" Milliseconds: {interval.Milliseconds,5}"
// The example displays the following output:
// Value of TimeSpan: 1.15:42:45.7500000
// 2,382.76250 minutes, as follows:
// Minutes: 2382
// Seconds: 45
// Milliseconds: 750
Module Example
Public Sub Main()
' Define an interval of 1 day, 15+ hours.
Dim interval As New TimeSpan(1, 15, 42, 45, 750)
Console.WriteLine("Value of TimeSpan: {0}", interval)
Console.WriteLine("{0:N5} minutes, as follows:", interval.TotalMinutes)
Console.WriteLine(" Minutes: {0,5}", interval.Days * 24 * 60 + _
interval.Hours * 60 + _
interval.Minutes)
Console.WriteLine(" Seconds: {0,5}", interval.Seconds)
Console.WriteLine(" Milliseconds: {0,5}", interval.Milliseconds)
End Sub
End Module
' The example displays the following output:
' Value of TimeSpan: 1.15:42:45.7500000
' 2,382.76250 minutes, as follows:
' Minutes: 2382
' Seconds: 45
' Milliseconds: 750
Remarks
This property converts the value of this instance from ticks to minutes. This number might include whole and fractional minutes.
The TotalMinutes property represents whole and fractional minutes, whereas the Minutes property represents whole minutes.
