At first I have noticed the update ring (see above) when I check the status checking it sometimes shows some device pending even when the device is powered on and synced and I can verify the update policy is correctly set on the device.

Now I have noticed the same thing with the configuration policy, device and user checkin status shows 4 even though it was deployed to 200+ machines, and when I generate report, it shows more than half pending, again I can verify all device have the policy, my question is why does it show pending instead of success since the policy already kicked in on the device.

@Redistro, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on the information you provided, it seems that you are experiencing some common issues with Intune policy reports. One of the issues is inaccurate "pending" status. This means that even though a policy has been deployed to a device, the status of the policy still shows as "pending" instead of "success". This issue can occur even if the device is powered on and synced. As per the Microsoft documentation, The "Pending" status means that the policy is sent to the device, but the device has not reported back to Intune yet.

Based on my experience, the report status has delay sometime. you can wait some more times like 24 hours to see if it will change. If it is still pending, please open case to check the background logs to see where it stuck. Here is a link with the steps to open case:

    Hope the above can help.
