I am attempting to create a standalone Typescript Angular project in VS 2022 Community, but I am encountering the ERR_MODULE_NOT_FOUND error. How can I resolve this issue?

Please try to create another new standalone Typescript Angular project and check if the same issue appears.
If the same issue appears, please try to reinstall the corresponding workload(Node.js development), node.js and ng.
If the same issue doesn’t appear, then for the previous project, please try to clean project cache and rebuild it.
If it still doesn’t work, please try to install 20.9.0 LTS version of Node.js and check again.

I changed the node version to 20.9.0 and got this error. I checked the folders, index.js and init.js are there.

Looks the error message still indicates that the module cannot be found. May I know the complete steps that you were using to install npm, node.js and Angular CLI?
On my side, I installed the Node.js development workload > installed node.js > ran the command npm install -g @angular/cli in CMD to install Angular CLI > create a new angular project > run it directly.
I downloaded the 20.9.0 nodejs and installed it. Then ran the command you mentioned. Created a new standalone typescript angular project.
By the way, I saw this message in the output window.
An exception happened at deploy, the port 4200 configured on launch.json is unavailable.
Here is my default launch.json

If you tried to reboot your machine and directly open VS as administrator and run your angular project, will this issue disappear?
Besides, when you install node.js, did you select “Automatically install the necessary tools. Not that this will also install Chocolatey. The script will pop-up in a new window after the installation completes.” Option?
Did you use the default Edge web browser or use other web browsers?
Are there any special limits on your machine?
Is there any other project/application running together with your Angular project?
