Bookmark link not working

I want to insert a bookmark link from another document into an Outlook reminder.

These are the steps I am doing:

Within the reminder, I click on Insert - Link - Choose "Existing File or Web Page" and browse to that document - Click on Bookmark and find the section of the document that I want to go to - Click on OK

Once the link is inserted into the reminder, I click on the link to see if it works. The link will open the correct document but does not go to the Bookmarked section of the document that is listed. For example, L:\ACH\PROCEDURES\Digital Banking Daily Procedures.docx#TransferNowSegmentMigration

is the link that I inserted into my reminder. It will open the Digital Banking Daily Procedures document but does not take me to the TransferNowSegmentMigration bookmark.

How do I get it to complete the entire process? I am writing procedures and would like to link exactly where to go in the document for that specific procedure.

Thank you!

    Dear Jenny Baker1,

    Thank you for posting back.

Based on the information you provided, the bookmark worked correctly in Word document, but when you inserted it into Outlook, it got error.

Please follow this link to troubleshoot whether the issue caused by bookmark: Troubleshoot bookmarks - Microsoft Support

If above can’t work for you, I'm afraid this issue needs to be investigated from the backend side via remote assistance and collect the background logs. As this Forum community has limited resources, the backend support team there has more permission than us, they have more resources to investigate the issue from the backend, they have Escalate channel to escalate your issue to check more and collect log reports for the root cause.

I am going to call the document that I have items bookmarked in Document #1.

So in Document #1, I have 50 different bookmarks that are linked at the beginning of the document. Those links work when clicking within the same document.

When I insert the link in a remind in Outlook, it will open the document but just goes to the first page in the document and not to the bookmarked item within the document even though I am adding the bookmark within the link in the reminder.

    Dear Jenny Baker1,

Good day. Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

Based on your requirement, may I know if you want to insert a bookmark in Outlook mail or insert a bookmark in Word document?

I have test both insert a bookmark in Outlook mail or insert a bookmark in Word document, and they work correctly. Once the bookmarks have been inserted normally, click on the links and they will jump to the location where the bookmarks were inserted correctly.

To narrow down the issue, could you tell me if you meet the same issue when you insert another bookmark into the same document? Or if you have the same issue when you insert the same bookmark into another document?

Please try to repair the Office application and check if it works correctly for you: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support

Thank you or your patience and time.

    Sincerely,
