    Hi Ridhesh

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum and sharing your experience.

I completely understand how stressful it can be to encounter issues with your important notes, especially when exams are approaching.

To clarify, when OneDrive storage is full, OneNote may stop syncing. If you delink and relink the account or reinstall the app during that time, unsynced pages might remain only on the device and may not appear online. Because OneNote on Android relies on the cloud to save data, if the notes had not finished syncing to OneDrive before you signed out, they might be permanently lost.

However, please try the following steps immediately to see if the data can be recovered:

    • First, ensure you update OneNote to the latest version.
    • Once updated, please manually force a sync on your Android phone in OneNote using the steps in this article: Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote - Microsoft Support
    • User's image
    • Sometimes notes aren’t fully lost but are temporarily moved. Your next step is to sign in to https://www.onenote.com and check the OneNote ‘Deleted Notes’ view (if available). In some OneNote clients, deleted pages can appear under View > Deleted Notes or Notebook > Deleted Notes. If you find your page, select Restore.
    • User's image
    • Confirm that the content exists online: Sign in to OneDrive.com with the same account you use in OneNote. Open the Documents or OneNote folder and check whether your notebook and section are present. If pages are missing online, they likely never synced from your device before the account was delinked.
    • Also, look in the OneDrive Recycle Bin: If the notebook, section, or page was deleted during relinking, you can Restore it.

Since you tagged this post with 'For education', I highly recommend contacting your school’s IT administrator as soon as possible. They have access to the Second-stage Recycle Bin for OneDrive for Business or other advanced recovery tools.

If I have misunderstood your situation, please don't hesitate to clarify, and I will adjust my recommendations accordingly.

I sincerely hope you are able to recover your notes for your exam.

It sounds like you're experiencing syncing issues with your OneNote app, particularly after delinking and relinking your account due to your OneDrive being full. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the syncing problem and recover your important notes:

    1. Check OneDrive Storage: Ensure that you have sufficient storage in your OneDrive. If it's full, consider deleting unnecessary files or upgrading your storage plan.
    2. Force Sync: In OneNote, try to force a sync by selecting the notebook and then clicking on View Sync Status > Sync All. This may help in syncing your notes back to the cloud.
    3. Check Internet Connection: Make sure you are connected to the internet, as a poor connection can lead to syncing issues.
    4. Sign Out and Sign In Again: Sometimes, signing out of your OneNote account and then signing back in can resolve syncing issues.
    5. Use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant: If the issue persists, consider using the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant tool, which can help diagnose and fix problems with OneDrive and OneNote syncing.
    6. Check for Updates: Ensure that your OneNote app is updated to the latest version, as updates often include fixes for known issues.

If you follow these steps and still face issues, you may want to check the OneNote support documentation or reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
