Hi Dennis Connors,
I understand how frustrating this is, especially when Outlook opens normally but you’re unable to send or receive any emails. Thank you for providing the detailed error messages.
Based on recent reports, there is a known issue affecting Gmail accounts configured in Classic Outlook for Windows, where users may encounter send/receive and synchronization errors such as 0x800CCC0E and 0x80070057, similar to what you’re experiencing. The Outlook team is currently investigating this behavior.
In the meantime, Microsoft has shared the following workarounds that have helped other users restore connectivity.
Workaround 1: Clear cached Gmail OAuth credentials
1. Close Outlook.
2. Open Credential Manager from the Windows Start menu.
3. Select Windows Credentials.
4. Scroll down to Generic Credentials.
5. Remove all entries that begin with MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2 and include tp_google_imap_Oauth2.
6. Restart Outlook.
7. When prompted, sign in to your Gmail account again.
8. If syncing doesn’t resume immediately, restart Outlook once more.
Several users have reported success with this step alone. You may also find this similar case helpful, where removing the credential entry resolved the 0x80070057 sending error: Outlook sending reported error 0x80070057
Workaround 2: Remove the Outlook identity registry key
Please proceed carefully when working in the registry.
1. Close Outlook.
2. Right‑click the Windows Start button, select Run, type regedit, and select OK.
3. In Registry Editor, paste the following path into the address bar and press Enter: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities
4. Under Identities, check each subkey until you find the one associated with your Gmail address.
5. Delete the corresponding identity key for that Gmail account.
6. Restart Outlook and sign in to the account again when prompted.

I hope this helps, at least to some extent. If you have any concerns, questions, or feel that I may have misunderstood any part of the issue, please don’t hesitate to share an update. I’ll be glad to continue assisting.
