Where is the My Templates add-in on my ribbon. Put a lot of documents in that template creator and now the "My Template" is not on my ribbon to access any of the forms I created. These thing take time and energy and if the "My Template" add-in is designed to help alleviate constantly rewriting is going to just disappear at any random time, why even have it as an option!!!

    Hello Jasmine Gibson

First, I recommend reviewing the AI‑generated response on your post, as it provides helpful insights that closely align with the current understanding of this issue. You can also refer to the Microsoft support article linked there for additional details: My Templates are missing from Outlook

Based on current findings, this behavior appears to be tenant‑level and related to an active Microsoft service incident. As a next step, please contact your organization’s IT administrator and ask them to submit a formal support request through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. When submitting the case, it is recommended to disable the AI Support Assistant to help avoid automated routing and ensure the request is reviewed directly by a support engineer.

As a temporary workaround, you may consider using Outlook Signatures. While this does not fully replace the functionality of My Templates, it can help reduce disruption for frequently reused content during this period.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while this issue is under investigation. I will continue to monitor the situation and will share any significant updates as they become available.

The missing My Templates button is a known Outlook issue, not something that was removed from the ribbon configuration.

In classic Outlook for Windows, the View Templates / My Templates add-in can disappear from the ribbon and from All Apps due to a current service incident in Microsoft 365. Symptoms match what is described:

    • My Templates missing from the ribbon when composing a message.
    • My Templates not found under All Apps > Add Apps.
    • Attempts to add it back give a “Something went wrong” error.
    • Other add-ins such as Viva Insights or Salesforce may also be missing.

Microsoft has confirmed this as service incident MO1243496 affecting Outlook for Microsoft 365. A recent service change enforcing stricter authentication blocked add-in deployment and user authentication for add-ins, including My Templates. A fix is being deployed and telemetry shows add‑in errors are decreasing as the rollout progresses.

What this means for access to existing templates:

    • Templates created with the My Templates add-in are stored in the mailbox.
    • When the add-in becomes available again (after the service fix completes), the My Templates pane should return and previously created templates will be accessible again from that mailbox in Outlook (classic, new, web, or Mac), as documented in the template articles.

If My Templates is not visible at all in the meantime and this is not the service incident, note the documented behavior:

    • If My Templates does not appear on the ribbon, the organization may have add-ins turned off. In that case, an admin must re‑enable add-ins for the mailbox or tenant.

For now, the resolution is dependent on completion of the Microsoft 365 service fix for MO1243496 or on an admin re‑enabling add-ins if they were disabled.
