Hi Alavi-1313,
In addition to the steps already suggested above by Q&A Assist, if the device is still powering off shortly after being unplugged, please try the following additional checks (if not already attempted), as these can help rule out potential firmware or battery detection issues:
- Force a restart: Select Start > Power > Shut down and wait for the device to turn off completely. Then press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds. Continue holding even if the logo appears, until the logo screen shows again.
- Check the health of your Surface device using the Surface app: Open the Surface app, then expand Help & support to check the update status. If updates are available, select Check for updates to open Windows Update and install them. You can also select Get help and describe the issue you are experiencing. If the Surface app detects any problems, it will provide guidance. *Note: If the Surface app is not installed, it can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Once installed, select Start, search for Surface, then open the app from the results.
If the Surface continues to shut down quickly when unplugged after these checks, this may further indicate a hardware‑related battery concern. In this case, proceeding with service as outlined above would be the recommended next step. You may also bring the device to a nearby Microsoft authorized service provider if you prefer in‑person support.
Please let me know how it goes or if you have any questions.
