USB connection

Question

I have had to replace my old Surface with a new series 11, which does not have a USB port. How do I connect with my camera, which needs it?

Surface Pro 11 uses USB-C ports instead of the older rectangular USB-A ports. To connect a camera that requires a USB-A plug, use a USB-C accessory that provides a USB-A port.

Options:

1. Use a simple USB-C to USB-A adapter and plug the camera’s USB cable into that adapter.
2. Use a USB-C hub or dock that includes one or more USB-A ports, then connect the camera to one of those ports.

If the camera is not detected or not working after connecting through USB-C:

1. Unplug the camera, then shut down Surface: Start > Power > Shut down.
2. After 10 seconds, press and hold the Power button for about 20 seconds until the Windows logo appears, disappears, then appears again.
3. Reconnect the camera to the USB-C adapter or hub and test again.
4. If still not recognized, try connecting the camera directly to a single USB-C to USB-A adapter instead of a hub, and use the original cable that came with the camera.
