Surface Pro 11 uses USB-C ports instead of the older rectangular USB-A ports. To connect a camera that requires a USB-A plug, use a USB-C accessory that provides a USB-A port.
Options:
- Use a simple USB-C to USB-A adapter and plug the camera’s USB cable into that adapter.
- Use a USB-C hub or dock that includes one or more USB-A ports, then connect the camera to one of those ports.
If the camera is not detected or not working after connecting through USB-C:
- Unplug the camera, then shut down Surface: Start > Power > Shut down.
- After 10 seconds, press and hold the Power button for about 20 seconds until the Windows logo appears, disappears, then appears again.
- Reconnect the camera to the USB-C adapter or hub and test again.
- If still not recognized, try connecting the camera directly to a single USB-C to USB-A adapter instead of a hub, and use the original cable that came with the camera.
