My iphone logged me out of my email and requested to add my password in the mail settings (not App). It doesn't work and I am not receiving codes to my phone.

I am still logged in om my laptop luckily.

How can I get back into my email on the phone,

It is saying I have used an incorrect password to many times, but It is also not allowing me to reset.

There is currently an on-going issue with Outlook on iOS devices since yesterday, Microsoft have indicated they are working on a fix, they have provided a solution for the problem on this link in the Microsoft Consumer section:

    https://status.cloud.microsoft/m365/referrer=serviceStatusRedirect

User impact: iOS users may experience issues accessing Outlook and Hotmail from the default Mail app.

More info: iOS users on iPhones MUST take the following steps to re-enter their password and access their accounts:

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    2. Scroll down and tap on Mail.
    3. Select Accounts under the Mail settings.
    4. Tap on the email account for which you need to reenter the password.
    5. Tap on Account Settings or directly on the Password field (depending on your iOS version).
    6. Enter the updated or correct password in the Password field.
    7. Tap Done to save the changes.
    8. Open the Mail app to confirm that the account is syncing properly and emails are being sent/received.

Final status: iOS users MUST take the additional steps listed in the "More info" section above to resolve impact. We’ve confirmed service health has returned to normal and reporting users that have completed the additional steps are now able to access Outlook and Hotmail. We'll keep this post up for 24 hours to ensure users are able to review and take the mitigating actions.

Because the iPhone Mail app has locked out sign-in after too many incorrect attempts and codes are not arriving, use the fact that the account is still accessible on the laptop to regain access, then re-add it cleanly on the phone.

    1. From the laptop (where sign-in still works), reset the account password using the official Microsoft sign-in helper:
      • Go to the Microsoft sign-in helper tool and follow the prompts to verify identity and set a new password: Start.
      • If this is a work or school Microsoft 365 account and self-service reset is allowed, use: Reset password.
    2. After the password is successfully reset and confirmed working on the laptop (sign out and sign back in once to verify):
      • On the iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
      • Select the problematic email account and delete/remove it from the device.
    3. Add the account back on the iPhone:
      • Still in Settings > Mail > Accounts, tap Add Account.
      • Choose the correct provider (for example, Outlook.com, Exchange, or your email provider).
      • Sign in with the new password and complete any verification prompts.
    4. If the iPhone still shows “incorrect password” or similar:
      • Wait for the lockout period to expire (Microsoft may temporarily block new sign-in attempts after too many failures).
      • Then repeat step 3 and carefully enter the updated password.

If this is a non-Microsoft email account (Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, etc.), contact that provider’s support to resolve sign-in and code-delivery issues, then remove and re-add the account on the iPhone after the password is fixed.

If unrequested sign-in prompts or codes appear at any point, always deny them and complete the password reset immediately to secure the account.
