    Hi Karen Bodden,

I understand you’re getting repeated iDrive login/install errors even though you don’t want the app at all, that can definitely be frustrating.

Before suggesting anything new, can you confirm: Have you already tried the uninstall steps provided by Q&A Assist, and what exactly happened (error message or behavior)?

In addition, to narrow this down further, could you also check:

    1. Do you still see iDrive listed under “Settings” > “Apps” > “Installed apps”?
    2. Do the errors appear at startup or only when you try to open something?
    3. Do you see any iDrive-related entries under “Task Manager” > “Startup apps”?

    Looking forward to your update.

To remove iDrive and stop the login/install errors on Windows, use the standard uninstall path first, and only consider manual removal if that fails.

    1. Try normal uninstall
      1. Open Control Panel.
      2. Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
      3. Find iDrive in the list.
      4. Select it and choose Uninstall.
      5. Confirm when prompted.
    2. If iDrive is not listed or uninstall fails
      1. Use the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter to fix issues that block uninstall:
        • Download and run the troubleshooter from the provided link.
        • Choose Uninstalling when asked what you’re trying to do.
        • Select iDrive if it appears, and let the tool repair/uninstall it.
      2. If iDrive does not appear in the list inside the troubleshooter, it may require its product code (MSI-based installs only). In that case, an IT professional can use an MSI-reading tool to get the product code from the MSI file and feed it to the troubleshooter.
    3. As a last resort: manual removal (risky) If the above does not work and iDrive still causes errors, manual removal of program files is possible but risky and not recommended unless very familiar with Windows internals:
      1. Create a system restore point first.
      2. Move any personal data out of the iDrive installation folder (for example, into Documents).
      3. Try deleting the iDrive program folder from File Explorer.
        • If files cannot be deleted, another process (for example, antivirus) may be locking them, which can also be why normal uninstall failed.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, consider involving an IT professional, as incorrect manual deletion can damage Windows.
