I don't require Copilot. How do I renew my subscription to Microsoft 365 Family and not pay extra for Copilot?

Log into your Microsoft account on this link.

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

Choose to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription.

On the next window, scroll down and you should find the hidden option to get the Microsoft 365 Classic subscription for the original cheaper price without all the Copilot Ai functionality/

Existing Microsoft 365 Family subscribers who don't want Copilot features can switch to the Microsoft 365 Family Classic plan, which keeps the core Microsoft 365 apps without Copilot and stays at the previous (lower) price.

To avoid paying extra for Copilot when renewing:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Services page: https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the account that owns the Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
    2. Locate the Microsoft 365 Family subscription and select Manage subscription.
    3. Choose Cancel subscription. During this process, an option should appear to switch (downgrade) to the Microsoft 365 Family Classic plan instead of fully cancelling.
    4. Select the Classic plan and confirm. This keeps the subscription active on the Classic plan so renewal charges are at the Classic price (without Copilot).

In some regions (for example, Australia), Microsoft has also communicated that switching to Microsoft 365 Family Classic by the specified date can qualify for a refund of the price difference between the Copilot plan and the Classic plan, processed back to the payment method used.

If the Classic downgrade option does not appear, contact Microsoft Billing Support from the support site and ask specifically to move the subscription to the Microsoft 365 Family Classic plan.
