    Hi Jejuanna Tarrant,

If you're using Windows 11, you can add Copilot back to the taskbar by opening the Start menu, searching for Copilot, then right-clicking it and selecting Pin to taskbar.

If Copilot is installed but the icon is not showing, right-click an empty area of the taskbar, select Taskbar settings, then look under Other system tray icons and make sure Copilot is turned on.

If you cannot find Copilot in the Start menu, please let me know whether you are using Windows 10 or Windows 11, and whether the Copilot app is installed on the device. I'll be happy to provide further guidance.

To add Microsoft 365 Copilot back to the Windows taskbar, use one of these approaches depending on whether the device is managed by an organization.

For organization-managed devices (Intune / Microsoft 365 admin center)

If the device is managed and Copilot was previously pinned by policy, an admin can re-pin it:

    1. Ensure the tenant has at least one active Intune license and that the admin has the Intune Administrator role.
    2. In a browser, go to the Microsoft 365 admin center at https://admin.microsoft.com/.
    3. Navigate to Copilot > Settings > User access.
    4. Select Pin Microsoft 365 Copilot and its companion apps to the Windows taskbar (recommended).
    5. Select Save.

    Notes:

    • When enabled, the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and its companion apps appear to the right of other pinned apps on the taskbar.
    • On Windows 11 or later, policy changes can take up to 8 hours to apply and do not require a restart. On older Windows versions, changes can take up to 48 hours and may require a restart.
    • If Copilot or its companion apps were manually unpinned by the user on supported Windows 11 builds, that preference is respected during future policy refreshes.

If the setting is unavailable or greyed out

If the admin setting to pin Copilot and companion apps is missing or greyed out:

    • The tenant might not have any Intune licenses assigned. In that case, the app can be pinned using a taskbar XML configuration file as described in Configure the Windows Taskbar Pinned Apps with Policy Settings.
    • If Start layout is already managed in Intune, the policy must be edited in the Intune admin center instead of the Microsoft 365 admin center.

    For individual users

If organizational policy is not used, Copilot can be pinned manually like other apps from the Start menu or by using taskbar customization options in Windows. The taskbar supports pinning frequently used apps so they are always available.
