    Hi @Aya Benlamqaddem

Based on the details you provided, I understand that you have recently switched to a new phone and your mobile number is already registered for two-factor authentication (2FA). Because of this setup, the app is preventing you from re-registering your school account.

Since 2FA security policies for institutional accounts are managed centrally, you will need to contact your school's IT administrator or help desk. They will be able to reset your 2FA settings from the backend so you can register your new device without any issues.

You can suggest that they check this article for steps on resetting MFA: Manage user authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication

However, please refer the following article to find your IT Admin: Find the administrator for your work or school account

If Microsoft Authenticator was deleted and reinstalled without a backup, the app no longer has the account registered, so it cannot generate codes or approve sign-ins for that account.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. On the sign-in screen, select Sign in with another method or a similar option.
      • If SMS, phone call, email, or another verification method was previously set up, use that method to sign in.
    2. If this is a school account and no other sign-in method is available, contact the school IT help desk or Microsoft 365 administrator.
      • Ask them to reset MFA settings or allow re-registration for MFA.
      • After they reset it, the next sign-in should prompt setup of Microsoft Authenticator again.
    3. If the phone was lost or the app was removed and there is no alternate method, the documented recovery path for a work or school account is to use a different method or have the organization’s help desk clear the settings.
    4. After access is restored, set up more than one verification method so this does not block sign-in again.

If notifications were part of the problem before the reinstall, also check:

    • The phone is not in Do Not Disturb or Quiet mode.
    • Notifications are enabled for Microsoft Authenticator.
    • The app is updated to the latest version.
    • The phone has internet connectivity.
    • Date and time settings are correct.
