The website favicon still hasn’t updated in the browser and the previous version is still being displayed.

Microsoft Edge does not provide a server-side or remote cache-clear action for a specific website favicon. For saved site icons on the new tab page, the behavior is driven by Edge’s favicon cache and lookup order, and there is no direct setting to change that behavior.

To refresh the favicon in Edge, use these supported steps:

1. Open the site directly in Edge.
   • Visiting the exact page again can refresh the favicon cache for that URL.
2. Clear cached images and files.
   • Go to edge://settings/privacy
   • Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
   • Select Cached images and files
   • Select Clear now
   • Revisit the site so Edge can fetch the favicon again.
3. If the icon is still wrong, clear the favicon database manually.
   • Close Edge completely.
   • In File Explorer, open %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default
   • Delete Favicons and Favicons-journal
   • Restart Edge and revisit the site.

Note: Deleting the favicon database is a local action on the Windows device. After clearing it, icons can temporarily appear as default letter icons until Edge recaches them.
