When you are using Outlook in cached Exchange mode, the photo change may not take place immediately as it takes some time for OAB to update itself. You can force an OAB update and see whether it helps.
To force an update of the Offline Address Book (OAB) in an Exchange environment, you can follow these steps:
- Update the OAB in Exchange Management Console (EMC): In EMC, right-click the OAB and select “Update”. This generates a new copy of the OAB.
- Restart the Microsoft Exchange File Distribution service: After updating the OAB, restart this service on your server. This distributes the new copy of the OAB.
- Download the OAB in Outlook: In Outlook, click “Send/Receive”, then select “Download Address Book”. This downloads the new OAB to your local machine.
