How do you "Enable Windows diagnostic data collection from devices at a level of Required or higher"?

Greetings and gratitude for any assistance that can be offered here.

Purpose for question: We have an unknown number of computers (>=2) that we know have been impacted by a failed windows update and thus want to produce a report of all computers impacted so that the issue can be resolved.

Difficulty: Microsoft documentation makes the following statement but does not appear to have any supporting documentation for how to action it:

Windows Update reports for Microsoft Intune

"To support reporting, you must configure the following data collection settings:

·         Enable Windows diagnostic data collection from devices at a level of Required or higher."

I've followed the link from Required and located there under "Use MDM to manage diagnostic data collection" it states:

Use Policy Configuration Service Provider (CSP) to apply the following MDM policies:

·         System/AllowTelemetry

·         System/LimitDumpCollection

·         System/LimitDiagnosticLogCollection

...
From here I followed the link to Policy Configuration Service Provider (CSP) in hope of learning how to "apply the following MDM policies" but instead only found another nebulous reference without enough information about where to find the "CSP" or how to leverage any of the variables listed there.

For example:

"The Policy configuration service provider enables the enterprise to configure policies on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Use this configuration service provider to configure any company policies."

Can anyone please shed some light on how to actually "use this configuration service provider"?

Thanks so much in advance.

@MuchAppreciated2024, Thanks for posting in Q&A. For the CSP settings mentioned to configure Windows Diagnostic Data, you can configure it via device restriction profile in Intune. You can refer to the steps in the following link to do it.

Note: Non-Microsoft link, just for the reference.

Hope the above information can help.
