Why 'Custom App' option is not shown under 'Add Source' in event stream of Microsoft Fabric.

We are trying to consume messages from Kafka. Created a new event stream in Microsoft Fabric. 'Custom App' option is not shown under 'Add Source' or 'New Source' in event stream of Microsoft Fabric real-time analytics

    Hello @Karthika Samidurai,

    welcome to this moderated Azure community forum.

    I have tested this experience because it worked well for me in the past.

    After I created a new Eventstream, I checked the available types of sources.

    The updated interface is a bit different from what I have seen in the past but the Custom App is still there.

    Select 'Use custom endpoint':

    Fill in a name for the endpoint:

    With the updated interface, you need to publish the eventstream first before the custom app kafka source settings are made available.

    So I added a destination, in this case a CustomApp destination, and hit Publish.

    Once the event stream starts, the settings are made available:

    Just select the 'streaming' source endpoint and check the Kafka tab for the keys and sample code.

    Yes, the user interface has changed the last couple of weeks but the functionality is basically still the same.
