How to Disable Copilot from my Windows 11 PC?

After updating my Windows 10 laptop I don't have a fully working trackpad as Copilot is interfering with it, so I really need to find a way to remove or disable it?

Nearly every other Windows update breaks something on either my laptop or my gaming PCs, it's gotten so bad I have to keep disabling Windows updates, which I have made posts about before, like on an update where it destroyed multiple expensive M.2 SSDs, and now this.

This time it's really worrying as I'm disabled and use my laptop to order my medication which I could die without and now it's going to be very hard to order with the trackpad not working properly, and the space bar only sometimes works etc.

Why not ask if we want it first? and I have never used the taskbar search, and don't know anyone else that does also.

To disable Copilot from your Windows 11 PC, you can follow these steps:

Open Settings: Click on the Start menu and select "Settings" or press Win + I to open the Settings app.

Navigate to Apps: In the Settings window, go to "Apps" from the left-hand menu.

Apps & features: Click on "Apps & features" under the Apps section.

Find Copilot: Scroll through the list of installed apps or use the search bar to find "Copilot".

Uninstall: Click on the three dots next to Copilot and select "Uninstall". Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

How to turn off Copilot in Windows 11, in one minute:

Hide it: Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → switch Copilot to Off.

On Pro or Enterprise: open gpedit.msc, go to User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Copilot, set “Turn off Windows Copilot” to Enabled, then restart.

On Home: in the registry, add the DWORD value TurnOffWindowsCopilot = 1 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot, then reboot.

After these steps, Copilot’s button and shortcut will be disabled.
