Migration to Azure Update Manager | Azure Automation update management is getting retired.

Azure Automation update management will be retired on 31 August 2024

We are currently using Azure Automation update management.

On 31 August 2024both the update management feature of Azure Automation and the Log Analytics agent it uses will be retired. After that date, the Azure Automation update management service will continue to work for an undetermined amount of time. Once retired, you won't be able to create support cases, and new onboarding to Automation update management will be blocked.

As a result, you'll need to begin assessing and patching your virtual machines using Azure Update Manager by 31 August 2024.

Azure Update Manager is available at no extra charge for managing Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Stack HCI Virtual Machines. For Azure Arc-enabled servers, the price is $5 per server per month.

Now the query is, please help me with the step by step to do this complete activity. we have 22 VMs in my all the subscription.

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi,

This platform is not for providing personal support. If you need such kind of support it is better to check with your internal IT or your Microsoft representative. However the migration from Log Analytics agent to Azure Monitor agent is not so complex. At this page Migrate to Azure Monitor Agent from Log Analytics agent and all pages in that section you can find information how to migrate and even some tools/scripts that help you do that. My suggestion is to read and start executing the steps there.

Please "Accept the answer" if the information helped you. This will help us and others in the community as well.
