Have tried a quick repair and an online repair of Office. Have also tried Resetting the the machine with a Intune Fresh Start- keeping user data. Even tried a AutoPilot Reset.

Have also Uninstalled Office restarted and re installed it from the 365 site

The Analysis group still will not appear, the Analysis ToolPak and Analysis ToolPak - VBA are both enabled as is the Solver add-in.

    Hi @Mervyn Moore,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of the troubleshooting steps you’ve already taken. I understand how important the Analysis group is for your work, and it can be difficult when it doesn’t appear despite enabling the add-ins and reinstalling Office.

Here are suggestions you can try to troubleshoot:

    1. Verify that Excel is actually loading the built‑in add‑ins
    • Open File → Options → Add‑ins.
    • In Manage, choose Excel Add‑ins and click Go….
    • Select Analysis ToolPak, Analysis ToolPak – VBA, and Solver Add‑in, then click OK.
    • Fully quit Excel and reopen it.

Note: If these boxes were already checked, toggle them: clear the boxes → OK → close Excel → reopen → re‑check → OK → reopen. This refresh often restores the ribbon group.

    1. Remove Trust Center restrictions that hide add‑in UI

Excel can suppress the Analysis group if specific Trust Center or policy settings block add‑ins.

    • Go to File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings… → Add‑ins. Confirm Disable all Application Add‑ins (may impair functionality) is not selected. If your organization does not require signed add‑ins, clear Require Application Add‑ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher.

    • If the ToolPak or Solver lives in a non‑trusted folder, add it under Trust Center Settings… → Trusted Locations → Add new location…. This resolves ribbon visibility issues caused by location trust.

For detail next step, please refer to: Excel Add-in Ribbon Disappears.

It is important to fully understand the risks involved before using any of the suggestions in the links above.

In managed environments, ask your admin to review GPO/Intune policies such as Block all unmanaged add‑ins or Disable all application add‑ins. These can hide the Analysis group even when the add‑ins are enabled.

    1. Reset ribbon customizations (if the Analysis group was removed/hidden)
    • Open File → Options → Customize Ribbon.
    • Select the Data tab → Reset → Reset only selected Ribbon tab.
    • If that does not restore the group, choose Reset all customizations.

Microsoft and Windows Central both document these reset steps.

    1. Contact IT admin
    • If the problem persists, I recommend contacting your IT administrator for further assistance. If needed, they can submit a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 admin center for further investigation.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to your thoughts on this.

    Hi @Mervyn Moore,

    Thank you for your response.

If the issue continues, it may be caused by leftover configuration or cache files that Excel uses to store settings and preferences. These files can sometimes become corrupted and interfere with Excel’s functionality. To fully resolve this, I recommend completely uninstalling Excel, removing any residual files, and then reinstalling the application.

Here are steps to uninstall Excel and clear caches:

    1. Uninstall Excel
    • Open Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features.
    • Locate Microsoft Office (or Excel if installed separately), right-click, and select Uninstall.
    • Follow the prompts to complete the process.
    1. Remove Leftover Files from the AppData Folder

Excel stores user settings and caches in the AppData folder. After uninstalling Office, there might still be leftover files that can cause issues, so you need to manually delete them.

    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type %appdata% and press Enter. This will take you to the Roaming folder inside AppData.
    • Navigate to the Microsoft folder and delete the Excel or Office folder. If you see any related Excel or Office settings folders here, delete them as well.

Next, repeat the steps for the Local folder:

    • Press Win + R again, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.
    • Look for Microsoft > Excel and delete folders here.

Important: Don’t delete the entire AppData folder, just the subfolders related to Excel or Office.

    1. Reboot your computer

After deleting all the leftover files, it’s a good idea to restart your computer to ensure that no processes related to Excel are still running in the background.

    1. Reinstall Excel

Now that you've fully removed all remnants of Excel, you can reinstall it:

    • Go to the office.com or your Office account page.
    • Log in with your Microsoft account and reinstall Office.
    • Follow the prompts to install Office (or Excel if you’re using a standalone version).
    1. Contact IT Admin
    • If the issue still contnues, the problem may be due to something deeper within your system or Office account. I recommend contacting your IT administrator for further assistance. If needed, they can submit a support ticket through the Microsoft 365 admin center for further investigation.

I hope this helps you fix your issue quickly. I'm glad to assist and truly hope the information provided has been useful. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you need further assistance.
