Hi.

I am new to the community, so Hello guys.
In addition, I don't fully understand the AzureAD.

The task which I have is to generate API keys for user on Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) for external service (Xray).
The problem is that Atlassian is integrated with Azure AD and the users are populated through the AzureAD.
My understanding is that I should create a service account on AzureAD which should be populated on Jira through the integration.
I use Atlassian Cloud added as external application - that works fine.

Questions are as following:

  1. How do I create the service account. I found only how to create service principal by app registration.
  2. What do I miss here? I feel I am approaching it wrong way

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @patrykk

Thank you for asking this question on the **Microsoft Q&A Platform. **

    1) How do I create the service account. I found only how to create service principal by app registration.

That is the best way to create it.

    2) What do I miss here? I feel I am approaching it wrong way

I am not sure what steps are you following

This is the Microsoft documentation for Integrate Atlassian Cloud with Azure Active Directory and this the Atlassian documentation for Configuring Azure Active Directory

    Hope this helps,
