abstract member OnRowEditing : System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewEditEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnRowEditing : System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewEditEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnRowEditing (e As GridViewEditEventArgs)
Parameters
A GridViewEditEventArgs that contains event data.
Exceptions
There is no handler for the RowEditing event.
Remarks
The RowEditing event is raised when a row's Edit button is clicked, but before the GridView control enters edit mode. This enables you to provide an event-handling method that performs a custom routine, such as canceling the edit operation, whenever this event occurs.
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.
The OnRowEditing method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
Notes to Inheritors
When overriding OnRowEditing(GridViewEditEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnRowEditing(GridViewEditEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
