Dynamic connectors in org charts not working

Question

Hi. We can't make dynamic connectors work in recent Visio version.

The issue is that org chart dynamic connectors don't work properly when manually added. They only work when automatically created by drag-dropping shapes on top of another.

Neither moving nor "arrange subordinates" works.

We verified that this workes in older Visio versions 2112 and 2205, but not working in version 2212 and 2206.

This is what we are doing

1. Created a org chart with dynamic connectors:

2. Right click > Subordinates > Arrange subordinates

3. Ok > But nothing happens

Same steps in Visio 2112 results in this, which is what I want.

Am I missing some setting or something. Please advice.

Hi @Patrik Granlöv,

What version of Visio did you use? If you're using Visio plan 1, this feature is not available.

I tested in my Visio plan 2 version number: 2301, the arrange subordinates works without problem.

Try to install the latest updates for Visio and check if this issue still existed.

I am getting this also on version 2208.

I have found a work around though.

If you arrange subordinates. Then drag the subordinates onto the manager, visio arranges the subordinates as expected. Annoying but gets you the result.
