I believe in order to have data in that table you need to use ILogger. Also log level needs to be configured as well.

These are already setup properly from the example generated from the Quickstart: Create a C# function in Azure from the command line documentation.
As previously mentioned, log stream displays the data, but logs were not consolidated into Log Analytics Workspace.
These logs should be consolidated into Log Analytics Workspace inside FunctionAppLogs table under LogManagement tables in Log Analytics Workspace, after additional diagnostic setting was added as described in Monitoring Azure Functions with Azure Monitor Logs documentation.
The generated host.json file content is listed below. The logs are showing in log stream and in the terminal when running it locally using func start --verbose command.

They are not sent at all.
This issue is reproducible on both Windows and Linux Service Plan, with B1 SKU.

Hi,
I was able to send the logs. The things I did was to create function app for .net 6.0 on Windows from Portal. After that I have configured diagnostic settings on the function app to send FunctionAppLogs to Log Analytics workspace. I have created new http trigger function and I have uploaded the following host.json file.

After that I have triggered the funciton and the logs were available. I do not know exactly which setting of the above is responsible but you can check the details about log levels here

Your test results can be reproduced on my side now. I can see the FunctionAppLogs table inside Log Analytics Workspace. The given configuration in host.json file works on my side.

Agree. We need to fine tune host.json in order to avoid this issue.
I am glad that you it worked. Also one of the problems is that the behavior is different based on the language of the function app. For example when you deploy PowerShell function app logs are automatically send without having to configure anything else where for c# you need to configure it so you can send even information.

Have you tried changing the default from trace to information?

I have two function app with Log Analytics configured in diagnostic setting. One function app is sending logs while other don't. I tried all option but no luck.
