At one time you had the MathType add-in installed on your computer. Then later, you removed it, but a macro-enabled file was left behind. Here's how to check the most likely location for the file causing this message:

    1. Close Word and Excel. In the Finder, click on the Go menu while holding down the Option key. Choose Library. Your hidden user library folder opens.
    2. Open ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word.
    3. If there is a .dotm file in there with Mathtype in the name, or if there is only one .dotm file, drag it to your desktop.
    4. Open ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Excel and check for an .xlam file. Drag it to your desktop.
    5. Reopen Word and Excel to check that the messages have gone away.
