Is Azure Advisor API no longer providing security recommendations?

Question

As mentioned, is it necessary to enable Microsoft Defender to receive Security recommendations?

I recall that it wasn't required before. Is there any documentation or announcement available for reference?

永勝 施 Azure Advisor is a cloud-based service that provides recommendations to help you optimize your Azure resources for high availability, security, performance, and cost. Azure Advisor provides security recommendations that can help you improve the security of your Azure deployments.

Azure Advisor integrates with Microsoft Defender for Cloud to bring you security recommendations. Defender for Cloud helps you prevent, detect, and respond to threats with increased visibility into and control over the security of your Azure resources It periodically analyzes the security state of your Azure resources. When Defender for Cloud identifies potential security vulnerabilities, it creates recommendations. The recommendations guide you through the process of configuring the controls you need.

You can access security recommendations in Azure Advisor by signing into the Azure portal and opening Advisor. On the Advisor dashboard, click the Security tab. From there, you can view and implement the security recommendations that are relevant to your Azure resources.

Some of the security recommendations that Azure Advisor provides include:

• Enable Azure Security Center Standard tier.
• Enable Network Security Group flow logs.
• Enable Azure Disk Encryption.
• Enable Azure Security Center recommendations.
