Web App stopped due to Quota exceed, however, the quota page shows far from been maxed out

I have a few Web Apps located in a ASP, which is on Free tier, Windows. The Web Apps were stopped with Quota Exceeded. However, the Quota page of the ASP shows the quota are barely used, as attached.

How shall I find what exactly exceeded the quota? Screenshot 2024-12-31 at 1.23.01 PM

Hi @Bear , you mentioned "a few" web apps. You only put a screenshot of one web app. Did you check the quota for other web apps?

The screenshot, as you see, is taken from "App Service plan" section, thus, it shall display the quota for the entire ASP.

Also, all apps in the same ASP have the exact same page as the screenshot.

Hi @Bear , the quota applies to that particular Web App. I've tested a similar scenario in my environment: one free-tier Windows App Service Plans with 5 web apps. Each of the web app shows similar quota page like this:

User's image Shortly after I created the fifth web apps, all of the web apps shows "HTTP Error 403 - This web app is stopped".

I checked Azure Monitor for metrics of "Memory working set" for all of my web apps:

web-app-metrics I put red arrow around the time I noticed all of my web apps were stopped.

I think your case is the same, it's the memory quota that caused your web apps to stop.

This is interesting! So the proper way to calculate is to sum all Web Apps together. I'll verify later today.

If that's the case, then that rise another question - how the memory usage calculated? I ran the same code locally in Visual Studio, and it shows the memory is only 50-60MB. However, the my screenshot suggests it's using 300+MB (I believe I once observe 800+MB on this page). Why they are drastically different?

Hi @Bear , your choice of Runtime stack will affect memory utilization. With Java Runtime stack, you also need to choose Java webserver stack - this also matters for memory utilization. I found that old Java version plus old Tomcat webserver used more memory. When you run your code locally in Visual Studio, I think it does not include memory utilization of the runtime stack and webserver stack.

Hi @Bear , any Runtime stack will consume memory when deployed to App Service Plan. Any update on the verification you mentioned [your statement above "So the proper way to calculate is to sum all Web Apps together. I'll verify later today."] ?
