A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
Hi @IR,
To clarify, Claude for Excel is an Office Add‑in (task pane). Because of this, it does not always appear in the same location as traditional COM or XLAM add-ins.
First, please make sure your version of Excel is supported. Claude requires Excel for the web or Excel for Windows running on a Microsoft 365 subscription, with build 16.0.13127.20296 or later. Unfortunately, older or perpetual versions such as Excel 2016 or 2019 are not supported.
Next, open Excel and navigate to Home > Add-ins or File > Get Add-ins. From there, search for “Claude by Anthropic for Excel” and select Add to install it.
If you’ve already added the add-in but don’t see it, please go to Insert or Home > My Add-ins, click Refresh, and then review Manage My Add-ins. It’s possible the add-in was hidden and simply needs to be restored.
Additionally, ensure that you are signed in to Office, as add-ins are linked to your Microsoft account. After confirming your sign-in, refreshing the add-ins list can often resolve the issue.
Finally, if you’re using a work-managed device, your organization may have restricted access to the Office Store. In this case, you may need to contact your IT administrator to enable Office Store access or have the add-in deployed centrally.
I hope this helps clarify the situation and moves things forward. Please feel free to share any updates, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance. I’d be happy to help.
I look forward to your reply.
