XamlType.LookupIsPublic Method

Definition

Returns a value that indicates whether this XamlType represents a public type in the relevant type system.

protected virtual bool LookupIsPublic ();

Returns

true if this XamlType represents a public type; otherwise, false.

Remarks

This method can be invoked by calls to IsPublic.

The default implementation uses CLR reflection against a non-null UnderlyingType. For a null UnderlyingType, it returns true.

Override this method if you want IsPublic to use different logic.

Important

LookupIsPublic is virtual, and therefore, can be overridden. The override has the potential (whether for malicious purposes or otherwise) to change the reported access information about a XAML type so that it no longer aligns in an expected way with the type system or access information of its underlying CLR type. For any security-critical checks of assignment operations and access, use the underlying CLR type instead.
