And now my computer runs like garbage, avoided 24h2 after a reinstall back to 23h2.
CPU usage is all over the place and lost on average 100fps in gaming.
Thanks Microsoft :)

Here's What You Need to Know
Story by Camilla Jessen
If you’re using Windows 11, it’s time to update—Microsoft has begun enforcing mandatory updates for the latest version, 24H2.
Here’s what this means and why you should act.
Mandatory Windows 11 Update
The 24H2 update, which has been available as an optional upgrade since October 2024, is now being automatically installed on compatible devices.
This rollout affects systems running both versions 22H2 and 23H2.
However, corporate devices managed by IT departments are exempt from this forced update. To minimize disruptions, Microsoft is using a phased rollout strategy designed to ensure system stability — though such processes haven’t always gone smoothly in the past.
The goal is to integrate the latest features while avoiding disruptions to users' daily workflows, reports Giga.
While the update is mandatory, users still have some control. Home users can schedule the installation and reboot at a convenient time. Updates can also be postponed temporarily, but not indefinitely.
For those eager to stay ahead, the update can be manually installed through Windows Update in the system settings.
Failing to update puts your device at risk.
Without the new version, you'll miss out on critical security patches and may encounter compatibility issues with newer software.
Microsoft emphasizes that the 24H2 update includes important security fixes and feature improvements to enhance performance and protect against potential threats.
What Should You Do?
To keep your system secure and optimized, it’s recommended to complete the update as soon as possible.
If you haven’t updated yet, head to Settings > Windows Update and get started. It’s a simple step to make sure your device stays safe and functional.

"The Fact remains machines should be on 24H2" ARE YOU SERIOUS... do you not read the complaints the issues... 24H2 DOESNT BLOODY WORK, how are we suppose to be on 24H2 when our systems fail to run, some of them brand new systems.... What an ignorant statement you made.
Why do I have to be forced to do an update which adds a butt-ugly text statement under the icons for 'Cut', 'Copy', 'Paste', 'Rename'? I don't need it, nor do the outright VAST majority of users. Maybe Microsoft should THINK about what users need before throwing such features out to the general public. Especially as there's no way to turn that ugly feature off, which just increases the size of the right-click menu.
Hey Guys,
I have had to roll back 24H2 for a second time. I updated on the 22 of February and my browser webpages started to slow down loading or even just tanked, it was terribly slow. I checked the connection with other devices, they connected and where running at speed, I rolled back 24H2 and my issues went away. I am on a optical fiber connection getting close to 1 gigabit speeds, so its not my connecton.
Some detail for example, Youtube would load video's with about a 1 to 2 second delay. Facebook would not load at all, regardless of browser used, I tried 5 of them. Checked my tablet and phone and wife's PC, Facebook loads fine.
Just repeated the same process today and sure enough I had to roll back 24H2 again, am I going to have to do this every 5 bloody weeks because you tools can't fix your ****. After 24H2 was installed today, I tried to apply the fixes available via the forums, tech sites etc.... nothing seems to work.
This is a brand new computer, it is only 3 months old. Everything was the latest hardware at the time of purchase, I spent over $6000 on this pc, sooooo pretty sure its not any incompatible devices or old drivers.
What am I suppose to do ha..?
John Devstated on Jan. 18, 2025:
"If your current Windows 11 version is 23H2, it is not mandatory to install 24H2 because your version will reach end of service in November 2025. Wait for it to be offered in Windows Update [https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/pro...](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-11-home-and-pro "learn.microsoft.com") "

Microsoft starts forcing Windows 11’s big 24H2 update on PCs
Plan on dedicating up to two hours for this Windows 11 update.
If you’ve been trying to somehow avoid the Windows 11 2024 Update, those days are over. Microsoft is now saying that mandatory Windows 11 24H2 updates have begun...
Microsoft’s status updates were made public on its “Windows 11 known issues and notifications”page, where the company said that it had reached a “new stage” in the roll out of [the Windows 11 2024 Update](https://www.pcworld.com/article/2490478/the-best-new-features-in-windows-11-version-24h2.html "www.pcworld.com").
However, somewhat of a clarification is found in, "Current status as of January 21, 2025:"
