Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
Good day to you! Thank you for contacting Microsoft Q&A.
It’s great that you’re optimizing Microsoft Teams traffic using FortiGate SD-WAN.
Teams is a real-time app, so it’s especially sensitive to packet loss, latency, and jitter. Among these, packet loss is the most disruptive, even small losses can cause audio/video issues.
You can find more details here: Use real-time telemetry to troubleshoot poor meeting quality - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn
In FortiGate SD-WAN, you can configure Performance SLA profiles to monitor these metrics. If Internet1 shows high packet loss, SD-WAN can automatically switch to Internet2.

Best practices for Teams:
- Prioritize packet loss in your SLA profile
- Use DSCP tagging: 46 for audio, 34 for video
- Avoid routing Teams traffic through VPN unless split tunneling is enabled
- Use tools like Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer to validate performance
