The process to become an MCT is changing

From July 1st you will need to have one of AB-730 and AB-731 and attend a Microsoft Onboarding course

To become a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), three requirements must be met and the online MCT application must be completed. Whether MCT status already exists cannot be checked from here; that is visible only in the personal Microsoft Learn profile and the MCT Portal.

1. Verify an MCT-qualifying certification
   • The profile must include at least one Associate or Expert level, technical role-based certification.
   • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), including MOS Master or MOS Expert, does not qualify for MCT.
   • Only technical role-based certifications that show “Associate” or “Expert” in the title qualify. Examples are role-based certifications such as PL-300 if it is listed as an Associate-level certification in the Microsoft Learn credentials site.
   • The certification must be valid (not expired) in the Microsoft Learn transcript.
2. Complete an approved instructional skills course (for first-time MCT)
   • New MCT applicants must provide verified proof of instructional skills from a Microsoft-approved Instructional Skills Certificate Provider (ISCP).
   • Choose any provider from the official ISCP list (for example, 4Bios Academy LTDA, 4th Dimension Technologies, ACADEMY TEDU4E (CLOUD4E), etc.) and complete their train-the-trainer / instructional skills course.
   • After completion, the ISCP submits verification directly to the MCT Program. The MCT application must be completed within three years of receiving this instructional skills certification.
3. Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement
   • Read the MCT Program Agreement and be prepared to accept its terms during the online application.
4. Enroll through the MCT Portal
   • Go to the MCT Portal (aka.ms/mctportal) and follow the New MCT Enrollment process.
   • Sign in with the Microsoft account that holds the qualifying certification.
   • During the application, select the ISCP that issued the instructional skills training.
5. If there are issues or questions
   • For help during enrollment, contact MCT Support at the email address shown in the documentation (mctprog@microsoft.com).
   • If MCT status ever lapses and needs reinstatement, the MCT Renewal or Reinstatement guidance applies; if lapsed more than three years, new proof of instructional skills is required.

To check whether MCT status already exists, sign in to the MCT Portal with the Microsoft account used for certifications. If access is not granted and the portal treats the account as new, follow the enrollment steps above.
