Hello,

last week I approved this patch and installed it on some 2019 servers, today I tried to install it on others and it is not possible, also in the wsus console now no server appears in "count needed".

Has Microsoft remove this patch ?

Thanks,

So, Microsoft decides to remove a patch and does not publish it anywhere.

And you have to guess what happened to that patch.

I have a similar issue with this update, I am installing all the updates via Azure update management, and it doesn't work. On the Operating System it shows OS is up to date but it doesnt have May 2024 Cumulative update installed

    Hello

It seems there have been some issues with the installation of the Update KB5037765. According to the Monthly Update Post-Release Insights from last Saturday, Windows servers attempting to install the May 2024 security update (KB5037765), released on May 14, 2024, might face issues during the installation process. The installation might fail with an error code 0x800f0982, particularly on devices that do not have en_us language pack support. This issue is currently under investigation by Microsoft.

Additionally, the May 2024 Security Release - Known Issues Digest from last Friday also mentions that there is a known issue with this update affecting Windows servers during the installation process. Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update when more information is available.

As for the WSUS console not showing any server in "count needed," it could be related to the ongoing investigation and resolution process. Microsoft has not indicated that the patch has been removed, so it may be a temporary issue related to the known installation problems.

Opened a ticket earlier for this and Microsoft rep said they pulled this update. He didn't know why there is no mention of it being pulled in any of the corresponding documentation.

Same issue here. We installed this update on several servers last week. Now it's not available, either from Microsoft directly or via WSUS. In WSUS it shows as not needed for servers that have not yet received it.
