Can't connect my "alternative id" account to my Visual Studio credits

My team has new members trying to connect their personal accounts to their Visual Studio subscription credits using a process we've documented and used without issue for some time. However, the instructions don't work anymore.

Once their subscription is active on their work account, they:

  1. Add a personal microsoft account as an "alternative id"
  2. Log into Azure with their personal account
  3. Go to subscriptions and click "ADD"

And that's where things break down. There's supposed be an "All other offers" drop down area, but there isn't. Only the "Free Trial" and "Pay-as-you-go" options.

Meanwhile, I used the same instructions as they did (though I did it more than half a year ago) and it worked fine. Even now when I look at the add subscriptions page, I can see "All other offers" with a down arrow showing there are many other options there. But our new employees are stuck. What gives?

    Hello @Jeremy Duffy ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Looks like connecting the alternative account to Azure credits should still work.

Though I think there’s no limitation on personal accounts for connecting to Azure credits, compare their personal accounts with your alternative account, do you see some differences maybe(such as newly created, associate with other things…)?

As your question is more related to billing/subscription and Azure Subscription platform, I helped add Azure related tag, and would also recommend you double confirm this with Visual Studio Subscription Team here: Visual Studio Subscription Support, or create a support case here: Get help.

    Sincerely,

    Tianyu
