I am developing android application using c# and c++. my application uses c++ library. whenever I select c++ debugger in android project properties window and i run my app in debug then I get an error which is attached as image to this question. I already installed cross-platform development workload in visual studio set-up and also I added a registry key in registry editor with NDK_HOME key and value. even after this, visual studio is not able to find NDK_HOME registry key. please help me to resolve it.

No it does not solve the problem still it gives same error. I tried following Visual Studio 2022 professional version.

My app is based on .Net8-android c# project which builds a c++ dynamic library(that is .so file).
all the sdk,ndk,jdk paths are correcltly configured in Tools > Options > Cross Platform > C++ > Android. that's why VS is able to build and load the c++ dynamic library but when I select c++ debugger to debug my c++ library then it gives registry error.
It can be reproduced easily by following steps.
now after deployement your apk to your device, you should get the registy error.

I am currently using a VM to test, so fail to reproduce it when I go to step 3(can’t use Android Emulator).
I forgot to mention that if you try to set the NDK_HOME in system environment variable(not Registry, you can search and open Edit the system environment variables in Windows Search box), will it work?
No it does not work. I already tried this. see it is already set in my system variables.
also see I added same in registry editor like below image.
this is in HKEY_CURRENT_USER:
and this is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
nothing helps to fix it.
@Gaurav Sharma, did you reboot your machine after you set the Registry and the system environment variables?
yes everytime whenever I set the registry or system environment. after doing all these troubleshooting , then only I posted question here.

I got chance to test again. I got this error:
Unable to start debugging. Could not load file or assembly ‘libadb, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=xxxxxx’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Not the same error as yours, but I think VS correctly detected NDK on my side, and this error is related to choosing C++ debugger(not .NET Xamarin debugger) to run MAUI project.
I still doubt that there’s something wrong in the system environment.
Did you also try following when troubleshooting?
devenv /ResetSettings in Developer Command Prompt for VS 2022) and repair VS(VS Installer, More, Repair).
yes I tried. can you please try .Net Android template in visual studio? does it work? do you have any NDK_HOME registry key in your registry editor?

Sure. Before, I followed the steps you shared to create a ".NET MAUI App", currently, I test "Android Application"(if you mean other project templates, feel free to let me know).
See following screenshots:
The NDK_HOME variable(environment variable) was correctly set(automatically set, I didn't set it manually).
Checked by using Registry Editor as well, didn't find the corresponding registry key.

Im having the same error. net8.0-android34.0 app using C# and C++ native libs. Whenever I try to use the C++ debugger, I get the NDK_HOME registry error. Tried a few of the troubleshooting steps recommended, nothing works.
Im running 17.11.5. Brand new windows and VS installation. Trying to run on a pixel phone.
