Driver Testing. Could not load test information, WDK

When I try to launch Visual Studio after installing WDK and extension, Im getting this error.
I tried reinstalling extension and reinstalling WDK, and its still not working

If you didn’t modify any settings while you were installing WDK, then please try to uninstall the extension and the WDK, reinstall Visual Studio, see if this works.

After you uninstalled WDK and the extension, did VS launch successfully?

If so, it seems that the error is caused by the WDK or the extension.

If you installed Windows SDK before, please also try to reinstall the Windows SDK(maybe from VS Installer > Individual components).

After you uninstalled WDK and the extension, did VS launch successfully?

Yes, after unintalling extension VS launch correctly

Reinstalling Windows SDK do not solving issue aswell

I am thinking if the installed version of WDK, VS and Windows SDK are not correct.

Could you let us know:

The WDK version that you have installed(for example, WDK 10.0.22621).

The version of VS that you have installed(for example, VS 2022 Community 17.9.5).

The version of Windows SDK that you have installed(for example, Windows 11 SDK 10.0.22621.0).

Did you follow this document: Download the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) to install WDK?

Latest preview version of extension(wich pop up recently) fixed error on start up.

But now there is no Linker, Driver Settings etg options in project settings

I doubt that the installed WDK was not detected correctly by Visual Studio.

Could you double confirm that you have installed the WDK by downloading and running the WDK setup file from this document: Install WDK?

If you have installed it, could you please kindly try to uninstall it(from control panel) and then reinstall it again?

Just reinstalled wdk by deleting it and reinstalling it.

Still no linker option.

Is there any permission limitation on your machine? Does running VS as administrator work?

Did you configure some settings on your machine, for OS/system maybe?

Hello @TimLiz ,

I think I find the cause.

Please try to change to use other "Windows SDK Version" instead of 10.0 (latest installed version) in the property page.

For example, using 10.0.22621.0(You can install it or other versions from VS Installer => Modify => Individual components => SDKs, libraries, and frameworks).

BTW, don't forget to click the Apply button after you change the Windows SDK Version.

Looks like installing Windows SDKs from VS/VS Installer still doesn’t work. Please also try to install Windows SDKs manually from here: Windows SDK and emulator archive.

Have you tried following methods? Does any of them work?

Rename/remove this folder %localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\17_xxxxxxxx\ComponentModelCache.

Repair VS from VS Installer > More > Repair. Reset VS by running devenv /ResetSettings in Developer Command Prompt for Visual Studio 2022

Reinstall WDK.
