I set my background as slideshow in personalization settings. But then when I opened a new desktop (desktop 2), and then when I switch back to the original desktop (desktop 1). It automatically changes to a single picture for both desktop, how stop it from doing this.Screenshot 2026-01-20 225123

I am having the same issue. Whenever I switch desktops my custom slideshow is lost, and the default wallpaper is set. I also tried setting a custom theme with these settings as suggested above, but it didn't work.

    Welcome Arulraj Harsiyan,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I am sorry to hear about your issue with Windows slideshow backgrounds revert to a single picture when switching virtual desktops

You can try the workaround steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Set the Slideshow First, Then Save It as a Theme for Stability

    • Go to Settings > Personalization > Background and select Slideshow with your folder
    • Switch to Personalization > Themes, then click "Save theme" and name it
    • Ensure the saved theme is active, then test by creating and switching desktops

If the issue continues, you can submit your feedback directly to Microsoft through the Feedback Hub. This helps the engineering team understand your needs and prioritize improvements in future updates.

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.
