Hi,

We have a problem with Outlook 2016. When you try to translate a message. We get this error: "The service could not be searched because your computer is not connected to the internet". It's not internet, firewall or even addons I turned everything off and this message is still showing up. What can couse this?

I already did everything they told me at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/outlk_win-outtop_classic-outsub_ofb/outlook-2016-translator-connection-error/da704d39-6158-4d0b-97f7-4865fafe9213 and translator still not working. Is this service still available for Outlook 2016?

    Dear @Jonatan Glaza

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Support.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by the translator issue in Outlook 2016. We truly appreciate the efforts you have already made in attempting to resolve the problem. However, please kindly double check this setting of the translator in Outlook for Windows through this article: Translator in Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

If it is not resolved your issue, I kindly suggest that you escalate this matter by submitting a service request through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center for the most efficient help due to the complexity of the issue and the limitations of support available through the Q&A forum:

In the meantime, I can offer two temporary workarounds to help you continue translating content until an upgrade is possible:

    1. Use the Web Version of Outlook:
    • Go to Outlook on the web.
    • Open your email and use the built-in translation feature, which is still supported.
    1. Use Microsoft Translator Manually:
    • Copy the email text.
    • Visit Microsoft Translator or use the Translator app.
    • Paste and translate the content.

I hope this information can help you understand the situation and find a suitable solution for your work.

    Wish you a pleasant day!
