Microsoft updated the eligibility criteria for the Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Sandbox in early 2024. Now, access is restricted to developers or organizations with active Visual Studio Enterprise subscriptions or those who are members of specific Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Programs, such as:
- ISV Success
- Solutions Partner
- Specialization/Expert
- Managed Partners
- Premier or Unified Support plan member
If you don't meet these criteria, Microsoft suggests alternatives like purchasing a single-license Microsoft 365 plan for development or considering a Copilot license add-on. Existing members who previously had access remain unaffected by this change.
