I've used an Xbox one controller and series x controller on my pc but it seems like after i installed the accessories app and updated firmware both will randomly start lagging briefly then disconnect and reconnect and from what I've troubleshooted online, and in my drivers, even making sure Bluetooth isn't turning off power i haven't been able to solve the problem it may be just the batteries I'm using or out of date drivers or errors that i just cant seem to find.

    Hi Brenden Carter,

Thank you for providing those details.

Since the issue started after updating the controllers through the Xbox Accessories app and affects both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X controllers, it does seem possible that the problem is related to either the controller firmware or the Bluetooth connection between the controllers and your Windows 11 PC. Some controller firmware updates can affect Bluetooth connectivity with Windows and other non-Xbox devices, and in some cases reverting the firmware may help resolve the issue.

To help narrow this down, could you try connecting one of the controllers using a USB cable and test it for a while? If the controller works normally over USB, that will point more toward a Bluetooth-related issue rather than a problem with the controller itself. If possible, I would also recommend testing one of the controllers on another Windows PC. If the same disconnecting and reconnecting behavior occurs there as well, it would suggest a controller firmware or hardware issue.

It would also be worth removing the controller from Settings > Bluetooth & devices, restarting the PC and then pairing it again. Corrupted pairing information can sometimes cause intermittent disconnects and reconnects. In addition, please check whether a newer Bluetooth driver is available from your PC or motherboard manufacturer's support website, as outdated or incompatible Bluetooth drivers are a common cause of connection issues in Windows.

Since the issue appeared right after the firmware update, you may also want to open the Xbox Accessories app while the controller is connected by USB and see whether the option to revert the controller firmware is available.

When you have a chance, please let me know whether you're connecting the controllers via Bluetooth or an Xbox Wireless Adapter and share your Windows version and build number by pressing Windows key + R then running winver. That information will help us determine whether this is more likely related to Windows, Bluetooth drivers or the controller firmware itself.

I look forward to your update.
