Sharing with a large number of people

I need to share a document with a large number of people.  I would like to be able to choose the entire contact list I have created when I go to share, but it is only allowing me to  pick one person at a time.

Is there a way to add multiple people at a time when sharing?

I am going to have to do with with several documents all going to different groups of people and this would save me a great deal of time.

    hi jennifer,

about your requirement to share a document with a large number of people, we can create security groups or sharepoint groups to make it:

    way 1:

create a new security group via office 365 admin center, then share a document to this group. for example, here is a related screenshot:

about how to create a security group, please refer to this article:

create, edit, or delete a security group

    way 2:

create a sharepoint group and share a document to this group as the following screenshot shows:

you can have a look at this article to create a group:

    create a new group

if anything is unclear, please post back and we’ll further help you.

    thanks,

    kerwin

    hi jennifer,

if you are an end user, and you would like to share files with a specific group of people, you may consult the global admin to get the group's name and share the files.  or you may consult the admin to help you create the groups for you. after that, you can just input the group names to share the files with the users.

moreover, if you want to share files with all the users in your organization, you could input everyone except external users in the invite people.

or you may create a guest link and email it to the users in your contact list to let them access your files. please note that opening the guest link to view or edit the files does not require users to sign in. to do that: select a file in the library> click the ellipses(…)> click share> select get a link> select view only or edit and create link.> copy the link and send it to the users.
