Project Online with 365 E3 & Sharepoint Online - can't assign license.

Hello - we have an E3 subscription, and I've just bought 5x Project Online licences. We use Sharepoint Online with the E3 subscription. When I try to assign licences for Project Online via the Office 365 Portal, I get a message "You can't assign multiple licenses that contain the same service: Sharepoint Online (Plan 2).  Review the services included with each license, and try again".

It seems that I cannot assign a licence for both Offrice 365 Enterprise E3 and Project Online, which makes no sense.  Obviously I want users to be able to use Office as well as Project.  What should I do?

Darren.

hi marcelo,

the error message comes out may because these two plans all have sharepoint online (plan 2) included. please unfolder the licenses contained in these plans: office 365 enterprise e3 and project online. (click the small triangle to see the components of these plans)

if so, when assigning the subscription, please unselect sharepoint online (plan 2) to avoid this conflict and save.

please give it a shot and i am looking forward to your updates.

regards,

april

    Hi Darren,

    Music to ears!

You then may just make sure at least one license for each service has been checked so that you can use them fine. If you unticked both of the licenses listed there, you will not be able to use Sway or Office Online.

Also, Would you mind marking my posts helpful so others can find these information in this thread more quickly?

    Regards,

    April

Aha - that worked!  I see that Sway and Office Online are also duplicated between "Project Online" and "Office 365 Enterprise E3", though it doesn't protest if I have them ticked for both products.  Are there any issues with having these ticked/unticked?
