OneDrive - Is one way sync an option

We have Mac and Windows users that are licensed for OneDrive for Business and we would like to use the 1TB storage per users we have.

But how can you use the OneDrive client to take advantage of 1TB if it is syncing locally to the client computer.

Our client computers have barely 200GB of space available.

Is there a way to use the client to have OneDrive folders accessible but prevent the folders from being synced locally?

    Hi Office 365Admin8906,

The OneDrive for Business sync app is used for syncing Files between local files and cloud files. It will generate a local synced folder and take the local disk storage.

If you want to manage OneDrive for Business library files while don’t let it take local disk storage, it cannot be achieved by OneDrive for Business sync app. As a workaround, on Windows PC, you may consider mapping a network drive to connect your OneDrive for Business library. Please refer to this KB to do that: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2616712 However, SharePoint Online site doesn’t support Map network drive on Mac. We appreciate your understanding.

Hopefully other community members who have the same experience can share their ideas.

    Thanks,

    Iris
