Office 2016 Pro Plus - Password Change Issue

Hi Guys,

We're using Office 2016 ProPlus 365 with Shared Activation on a Terminal Server. When users change their password, the next time they login they receive the below message from office and are unable to use office. The only way we can fix it is to reset their profile or follow the workaround on this KB: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2750229.

"Sorry, another account from your organization is already signed in on this computer"

This is not practical and means IT has to intervene every time users change their passwords. Can anyone suggest a way to resolve this?

    Hi Shaun,

Good to know that the issue is resolved after installing the latest Office updates. Feel free to contact back with the escalated engineer to work further on the issue if it reoccurs.

    Thanks for working with us.

    hi eric,

i have confirmed shared activation is enabled. see below:

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=fd57e151-fb06-40ad-9ab5-7c92b6838389)![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=b9dbb70e-f6b3-47cb-8d43-3b62f2188d10)

this seems to happen after changing your password and the server has rebooted. i changed my password as a test and didn't see the issue until the next business day.

i think it is happening to all users as i was able to replicate it and we are receiving multiple reports of the issue.

    Hi ISCanadian Red Cross,

Could you double-check Shared Computer Activation has been successfully enabled on the terminal server following the method here: Verify that shared computer activation is enabled for Office 365 ProPlus?

Besides, could you confirm the following points as far as you know to help us identify the scope?

    1. Will the issue happen every time a user change password or occasionally?

    2. Does it happen to all users?

    Thanks,

    Eric Yang

So there is no workaround or fix for this? Every time our users change their password they would have to follow the KB article to be able to use Office again?
