Office 2019 Professional Installation via ODT Issues

I'm having problems installing Microsoft Office 2019 using the Office Deployment Tool (https://config.office.com/):

  • The windows' visual style are not properly following Windows 11 style (highlighted in Red in the screenshot) - window corners aren't round as in any other Application (highlighted in Orange in the screenshot);
  • Dark Mode is not working properly - I used to have white text over dark grey background (highlighted in Blue in the screenshot).

Previously I just did a full installation through https://setup.office.com/, but right now I only need to install some of the Applications.

    Thanks for the clarification. Since you have verified that the install method makes a difference, you should definitely report this to Microsoft using the Feedback facility.

    There is a thread in the TechCommunity forum which demonstrates how you can change certain registry entries to enable the new Office look. It mentions Word 2021, but it would be worth testing even for Word 2019, I suppose. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/713613/not-getting-the-new-visual-refresh-in-office-2021.

    If you meant to upload a screen shot, that attempt appears to have failed, I'm afraid. Sometimes you have to save the screen shot as an image file and then insert it by clicking the Insert image icon on the toolbar in the Reply window.

    As far as I know, the new Office look isn't fully supported in Office 2019. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/the-new-look-of-office-a6cdf19a-b2bd-4be1-9515-d74a37aa59bf.

    Yes, it does work - I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2019 last weekend to get rid of unused apps (I only use Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and free some space in my SSD.

    So, basically:

    • If I install my Office 2019 Professional through https://setup.office.com it works properly: the windows' corners follow Windows 11 style and Dark Mode is fully operational - but I can't choose which Applications are meant to be installed, and I also can't modify the installation to achieve this goal.
    • I'm giving a feedback so that Microsoft Office team can know about this issue and correct this particular problem with ODT (https://config.office.com) installations: 1) windows need to correctly follow the OS's visual style; 2) Dark Mode needs to work properly.
