To update the username in the email alias, you can follow these steps:
- Refresh or clear the email alias cache: a. Sign in to the Azure portal . b. Navigate to Azure Active Directory. c. In the left-hand menu, select "Users" and then select the affected user account. d. Under the "Account" section, click on "Manage email aliases." e. Remove the onmicrosoft.com email alias, save the changes, and then re-add it with the updated username. f. Save the changes again and check if the updated alias is reflected correctly.
Also, It's possible that the update to the onmicrosoft.com email alias may still be in progress. I recommend waiting for a few hours or even up to 24 hours to see if the alias updates automatically.
