Greetings,

I am trying to install Microsoft 365 for BUSINESS apps using Office Deployment Tool (Volume Licensing).

But I am prompted with an error when downloading.

All these files works and install office proprely on C:

But when i try to install it on a NAS (on network)

i do setup.exe /configure configuration.xml" with the same file than on C:

i got the error Can't install Office

I saw that there's missing .dat and .cab file on the office folder created by the previous cmd on the network folder.

because when i change sourcepath to local folder it works, with all files .cab .dat ect

what can i do

Dear Mathieu ngz,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. It will be a pleasure working with you,

You are having trouble installing Microsoft 365 for Business apps using the Office Deployment Tool. There are a few possible reasons why you are getting the error “Can’t install Office” when trying to install from a network folder.

One reason could be that the network folder is not accessible or has insufficient permissions for the setup.exe to run. You can try to copy the setup.exe and the configuration.xml files to a local folder on your computer and run them from there. Alternatively, you can try to map the network folder as a drive letter and run the setup.exe from there.

Another reason could be that the configuration.xml file has some errors or is not compatible with your version of Office. You can use the Office Customization Toolto create a new configuration file and make sure that the Product ID, Language ID, and SourcePath are correct. You can also check this articlefor more information on how to deploy Office 2019 using the Office Deployment Tool.

A third reason could be that you have some residual files or registry entries from a previous version of Office that are interfering with the installation. You can use the Office uninstall support tool to completely remove any traces of Office from your computer and then try to install again.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue. If you still encounter the same error, please contacthttps://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/managed-desktop/operate/support-requestMicrosoft support for further assistance.
