Hi

As the title states, I was working in word when i attempted to close a file it gave me the option to save or not save and I clicked cancel as that was not the right document and I planned to save it later, Word then proceeded to crash or at least close all the Word documents I had open and none of my work in any of the documents saved. I didnt even get a chance to title my primary working document, it is just tiled Document1

Any information would be helpful ty

    Dear MajaTJ,

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your unsaved Word document due to a crash. There are a few things you may try to recover your work:

    • Check the AutoRecover folder:

Word automatically saves a copy of your document every few minutes in case of a crash. To find the AutoRecover folder, open Word and go to File > Options > Save. Look for the "AutoRecover file location" field to see where the folder is located. Once you find the folder, look for a file with a .asd extension that matches the name of your lost document.

    • Look for temporary files:

Word also creates temporary files while you work on a document. To find these files, go to File > Info and look for the "Manage Document" section. Click "Recover Unsaved Documents" to see if your lost document is there.

However, if you still cannot find your document, I understand how frustrating this situation can be and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I recommend you contact Microsoft Online Support, as they have higher permission to remotely assist you and check your environment to see if there is any other way to recover documents. This would be a more efficient way in handling this case for you.
