I frequently use video in training classes and imbed them in my PowerPoint slideshows. Until recently, ads never played when we came to a slide that included a YouTube video in the presentation. Now, this happens even when logged in to a YouTube Premium account on the same computer. This is a HUGE distractions in the middle of a presentation.I am glad to pay for a YouTube subscription but that doesn't seem to be solution.Any solutions from the help community are greatly appreciated!

There's already a VERY long thread about this problem. It's affecting even people with YouTube premium subscriptions. Microsoft is aware of the problem, but it can't hurt to do as Waqas has suggested and report the problem yourself. The more people report the problem, the better idea MS has of how widespread the problem is.

The evidence seems to point to a (new) policy at YouTube, that third-party programs (like PowerPoint) will get ads no matter what. If that's the case, there's nothing the PPT team at MS can do about it directly, but if enough people report the problem, it may prompt them to negotiate with YouTube in hopes of finding a fix.

    Thanks for you're response Patsy.

Following up on someone else's advice, I still embed the YT videos in my PowerPoint, but run the slideshow using the Microsoft 365 website. No ads appear.

    Thanks

    Tim

This is a great question. Now with all of these inappropriate political ads that we cannot skip, this is even a bigger concern. What is the point of paying for premium when I am prohibited from using it?

    So frustrating!

After years of being able to do PowerPoint presentations that leaned on YT videos to drive key points home, it has now become a distracting, inconvenient and sometimes embarrassing problem when videos pop up. They are sometimes completely inappropriate for the audience and often will not allow me to skip them. Yikes!

I don't have any problem with YT running ads. I understand it is an important part of their business model, so I invested in YouTube Premium to, what I exepcted, would bypass the problem. Unfortunately, it has made no difference. So why am I paying for YT Premium then??

I hope between Microsoft and YouTube a solution can be provided that will allow presenters to still use PPT so effectively, along with YT resources that help provide insight clarity and key info.

This is very disappointing after working effectively for such a long time.

It sounds as though YouTube has changed their terms of service to allow them to display ads in videos hosted in Microsoft programs.
